POA Print on Air – User guide

One of the weaknesses of 3D printing is certainly the printing of very inclined surfaces or with undercut areas.
In fact, to be able to print this type of surfaces, it is necessary to resort to the use of supports or other expedients which, however, involve an increase in printing times and further consumption of material.

With the innovative Print on Air feature of3DPRN, it is possible to print these pieces even without the use of supports. Even if the piece has undercut surfaces, this software function will guarantee definition and fidelity of the project.
One of the biggest advantages is found in the printing of objects with undercut areas contained within the object, which would require difficult internal supports, if not impossible to remove at the end of printing.

How to use this feature:

We enter the configuration of the print profile and in the tab SUPPORTwe will find the section “Print in the void
The POA strategy must first be enabled.
Automatically you will have average values on all settings to make the print in the air. However, according to the needs of the material and the undercuts of the piece, you will be able to adjust the behavior of this printing strategy.

Print on Air does not claim to be the definitive solution to supports but it is certainly a valid tool for parts with not excessive protrusions and a starting point for future developments..
