IMPRESS3DPrint, mill and customise eyewear right in your store
The IMPRESS3D printer redefines the concept of customisation in the optical industry. It is the world's first integrated system for producing cellulose acetate eyewear directly in the optical store.

Designed for the optical industry
From 3 to 7 hours
Eyewear production time from 3 to 7 hours, including printing and milling.
Integrated milling
It includes a milling unit to true and improve the quality of the printed eyewear frame.
Dedicated software
Proprietary 3DPRN-WARE software customised for 3D printing eyewear.
Touch screen on board
New embedded control system with a 7″ touch screen for advanced management of the 3D printer.
Integrated system for eyewear production
From the customer's face to the finished eyewear. Right in the store.
A completely new and unique method that lets opticians print custom eyewear for every customer, personalising frame, colour, temples and finish with remarkably short production times.
A system designed to turn the optical store into a custom production workshop.

Hardware built for optics
Every component designed for printing acetate.
Every hardware component of the IMPRESS3D has been designed and optimised exclusively for processing cellulose acetate.
One or more dedicated extruders ensure correct material deposition, while a patented lamp heats the material during printing, ensuring proper layering and adhesion of the acetate layers. The X-arc bed follows the curved geometry typical of frames, and a milling system with automatic tool changer completes the process with precise subtractive machining for the final finishing of the eyewear.

Digital workflow for opticians
Simple and precise. From the face to the eyewear in a few steps.
The IMPRESS3D printer includes a customised version of the proprietary 3DPRN-WARE software, developed specifically for the optical industry.
An intuitive wizard guides the optician step by step from capturing the customer's face scan to generating the print file, together with the related technical documentation.
The software automatically manages frame customisation, the choice of print parameters and the planning of milling operations. A simple, intuitive and fully automated process that turns advanced technology into an everyday working tool.
IMPRESS3DCAD
The eyewear CAD designed for opticians, not engineers.
Impress3DCAD is the application developed by 3DPRN for parametric eyewear design, created specifically for optical store staff.
No CAD skills required: a guided 9-step workflow takes the operator from choosing the template to exporting the 3D model ready for printing. The software works on DXF templates organised by component (frame front, bridge, end piece and temple), converting them into editable Bézier curves and automatically generating the 3D model through extrusion and Boolean operations. Lens grooves, nose pads, chamfers, fillets and hinges are handled automatically, while the built-in mirror function halves design time by drawing only the right half of the frame.
The final file can be exported in the main industrial formats (STL, STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF) and sent directly to the IMPRESS3D printer to start production.
Custom eyewear, printed for the customer
Opticians can print custom eyewear for their customers right in the store. First the customer's face is scanned; the customer can then personalise the frame on it, choosing the colour, cellulose acetate or metal temples, and the outer surface (glossy, matt, natural). The optician does not buy the eyewear, but a package containing the printing filament and the type of temple, complete with case and microfibre cloth. This makes it possible to print eyewear by downloading any model from the various brands available.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the IMPRESS3D.
How long does it take to make a pair of eyewear?
From 3 to 7 hours, including printing and milling.
What material does it print with?
Cellulose acetate. Every hardware component is designed for this material: dedicated extruders deposit it and a patented lamp heats it during printing, for proper layering and adhesion of the layers.
Do I need to know how to use CAD?
No. Impress3DCAD is designed for optical store staff: a guided 9-step workflow takes the operator from choosing the template to exporting the 3D model ready for printing.
What does the optician buy for each pair of eyewear?
Not the eyewear, but a package containing the printing filament and the type of temple, complete with case and microfibre cloth.
Which machine is the IMPRESS3D based on?
It is a LAB CLOSED X2-MILL model specifically for eyewear printing, featuring an automatic tool changer and arc 3D printing, with the proprietary 3DPRN software customised for this use.
