Dedicated electronics
Industrial-grade proprietary electronics to configure and adapt the machine to any production process, with no compromise on flexibility or performance.
Dual HMI
Two touchscreen displays positioned on opposite sides of the machine: complete, immediate control from any operating position, with maximum ergonomics for operators.
Main features

Large Volumes
A build volume of up to one cubic metre, designed for continuous production. The LAB Z is available in two widths (500×500 and 1000×1000 mm) and two heights (H5, 500 mm, and H10, 1000 mm): you can produce large parts in a single run, without splitting and gluing them, or fill the bed with entire batches of components and cut time and cost per part.
- Up to 1000×1000×1000 mm build volume in the LAB Z 1010 H10 version.
- Long prints without interruptions: 3DPRN-Weight monitors the spool weight and switches automatically to the second spool, while the dual filament feeder handles large-format spools too.
- Filament or pellets: FDM-FFF and FGF technology, with nozzles of up to 2.5 mm to deposit more material in less time.

Dedicated Electronics
At the heart of the LAB Z is industrial-grade electronics designed and manufactured by 3DPRN. Higher-quality components and extensive control capacity make it possible to tailor the machine to every production line, from single-extruder printing to the most complex applications with several axes and different tools.
- One machine, several processes: each axis can carry an extruder, a dispenser, a milling spindle with automatic tool changer or other automation.
- Built-in sensors: filament encoder, 3DPRN-LOAD for automatic bed calibration and Smart Power with UPS and automatic print recovery.
- Upgradable over time: hardware and software can be upgraded with new 3DPRN technologies, without replacing the machine.

Solid, strong frame
Over 500 kg of certified industrial mechanical structure, in aluminium with Dibond panels. The mass and stiffness of the frame absorb vibrations even at the highest speeds and turn every movement into precision, print after print: it is the foundation that lets the LAB Z work day and night on large, heavy parts while holding consistent tolerances.
- Precision to a few hundredths of a millimetre: magnetic rows accurate to the hundredth control axis position in real time and compensate for errors.
- Closed-loop Hybrid Step Servo drives: if an axis slips, it immediately recovers its nominal position.
- Built to last: designed for heavy-duty, continuous production cycles, with no loss of quality over time.

Multi-Axis
A modular multi-axis architecture that turns the LAB Z into a multifunction production platform. Each axis works independently and can be fitted with the tool best suited to the job: you can print with several extruders, deposit materials with a dispenser or finish the part with the milling spindle, adapting the machine to the production process rather than the other way round (patent pending).
- One tool per axis: extruder, dispenser, milling spindle with automatic tool changer or dedicated automation.
- Printing and milling in the same cycle: with the ®Mill system, additive and subtractive work together without moving the part, for tight tolerances and flawless finishes.
- Single or dual-stage extruders: a dual thermal zone for faster flow and parts with better mechanical properties.

Dual HMI Monitor
Two 7″ touchscreen displays, mounted on opposite sides of the machine, to control the LAB Z from any position. On a printer of this size it means never having to walk around the machine: you start, monitor and adjust the job from whichever side you are on, even when the printer is part of a department with several operators.
- Full control from both sides: the same commands and the same information on both displays.
- 3DPRN-WARE on board: print parameters, real-time monitoring and an interface designed for production.
- More ergonomics and safety: less walking for the operator, faster intervention when needed.

AI Integration
The artificial intelligence built into the LAB Z checks every print while it is in progress. It monitors part quality in real time, detects anomalies and deviations before they compromise the result and, thanks to predictive process analysis, helps prevent problems instead of fixing them once the job is finished. Alongside the operator there is also an always-available virtual assistant for technical support.
- Real-time quality control: anomalies detected during printing, not at the end of the job.
- Predictive process analysis: less scrap, less machine downtime, more consistent results.
- Always-available virtual assistant: immediate support on using the software and the printer.
Integrated dryer
The dryer stays active throughout the entire print: it keeps the filament at optimum humidity levels, ensuring consistent quality and perfectly repeatable results in every cycle.
Dual filament feeder
Two-stage feed system with active filament push: it ensures precise, continuous extrusion even with large-format spools, eliminating slippage and irregularities.
Multi-Axis
A modular multi-axis architecture that allows the machine to be equipped with extruders, dispensers, a milling head or bespoke automation, turning it into a high-value multifunction production platform.
3DPRN-LOAD
Automatic bed-levelling technology that runs before every start: no manual intervention, maximum precision guaranteed print after print, with no human input.
Smart Power
Integrated UPS system with automatic print recovery: in the event of a power cut, the job resumes exactly from the last saved point, with no wasted material or lost production hours.
Controlled environment
Temperature-controlled build chamber up to 65°C, fitted with an intelligent activated-carbon extractor: it creates and maintains the ideal ambient conditions for the most demanding technical materials.
Single and dual-stage extruder
Extrusion system configurable in one or two stages with a dual thermal zone: it optimises material flow at higher speeds and significantly improves the mechanical properties of the printed part.
Dual HMI
Two touchscreen displays positioned on opposite sides of the machine: complete, immediate control from any operating position, with maximum ergonomics for operators.
Filament encoder
Continuous filament monitoring with real-time readings: the system constantly compares extruder output against the encoder, instantly detecting and flagging any anomaly.
Advanced kinematics
Next-generation kinematics with higher speeds than printers in the same class: smooth, highly precise movements, with instant position recovery should the axes slip.
3DPRN-WEIGHT
Integrated weight sensor for spool monitoring: it detects when material runs out and switches automatically to the second spool, pausing immediately if the filament tangles, so nothing goes to waste.
®PRINT ON AIR
Technology designed and built by 3DPRN: printing of inclined surfaces and undercut geometries without support structures. Immediate material savings and zero post-processing time.
Heated build plate
Build plate heated up to 100°C, available in various power and surface configurations for maximum compatibility with all technical materials.
Magnetic rows
Hundredth-of-a-millimetre magnetic linear encoders for active, continuous control of axis position: absolute dimensional accuracy and automatic error compensation on every print.
3DPRN-WARE
Proprietary software suite developed specifically for 3DPRN printers: advanced print parameter management, real-time monitoring and an intuitive interface for total production control.
AI integration
Integrated artificial intelligence checks print quality in real time, runs predictive analysis of printing processes and also provides a virtual assistant, always on hand for immediate technical support.
Guaranteed upgradability
3DPRN printers are designed with an open, modular architecture: hardware and software can be updated over time to incorporate the latest technological innovations, without replacing the machine. An investment that never ages.
